And then on a weekday evening to Heerenveen (where it is always colder than here) to face the local SC in Siberian conditions. So the chilled spectators saw a first half in which PSV was clearly the superior side for the first thirty minutes. After three minutes, Kenneth set up a solo and it ends with the ball in the net. After seven minutes it was Dani who, after a good pass from Dirk, let the ball into the net like a real killer. After seven minutes 0 - 2. It takes about half an hour until Heerenveen gets into the game a bit better and gets a free kick just outside the sixteen. Yannick was still concentrating on his wall and their NR 10 pops the ball very dry into the top right corner. Must be said it was a fantastic kick and goal though. The score remained the same until half time, so quickly to the hot tea. Heerenveen came out of the break a little better and after an hour the NR 10 again managed to outsmart Yannick for the second time. 2 - 2. They smell blood. But the third part of the game (the last thirty minutes) we are getting back into the game and shortly after the equalizer Martijn is able to score the third goal for us after a nice preparatory action by Sam and Dani. We do come under pressure in the final minutes but the defense and Yannick manage to hold on to the three points. For the numb neutral spectator a draw might have been fairer but the points do go on the bus. After saying goodbye to a stray polar bear and polar fox on the loose we get on the bus in a blizzard and upon arrival it turns out that we took not only the points but also the snow shower with us south. Men congratulations with these three points and this a great morale booster towards the tournament in Italy next week.
See you Saturday and have a nice tournament in Italy.
And you must remember: it's only really cold when a polar bear builds his own igloo.
Goodbye.
