  1. Match report

Today the O12 of PSV had to travel early to Amsterdam, for the match against Ajax O12 which would start at 10:00 am.
After the first whistle it was immediately clear that both teams were going for the win, the game went up and down with little chances on both sides of the field, for PSV it was Joep who got the first chance. Unfortunately his shot went just wide, at the other end Jesse managed to defuse an Ajax free kick by heading the ball well away. The next chance was again for PSV, a deep ball from Jesse was lifted by Tim over the goalkeeper but fell on top of the roof of the goal instead of in. Unfortunately in the 13 minute Dylan had to leave the field because he was well hit on his knee, this could be a loss for PSV. Mylan got a chance by running well through on a cross ball from Nassim, but the goalkeeper was just a little bit earlier to the ball. Right after that it was Deveron who managed to head the ball only minimally over from a well taken corner. PSV was equal or even perhaps the superior side so far. But from minute 18 Ajax started to get a bit more grip on the game and the Amsterdammers became slightly more threatening, but the PSV defense stood its ground well and there was no way through. In the 22nd and 23rd minute the PSV defense made two small mistakes, Ajax immediately took advantage of this and that is how PSV was 2-0 down within one minute. Ajax was now the superior side and despite the defense managed to get rid of a lot, Ajax still managed to score 1 goal before halftime and so the 3-0 halftime score was reached.
PSV's heads went up again at halftime, Dylan also went to try again on with little despite the pain on his knee. After the start of the second half, PSV was again on top. Dylan went close with a free kick that went just over. But Kevin also had to save a quick Ajax breakaway. In the 46th minute the well deserved goal came, a free kick by Mylian was stopped by the Ajax goalkeeper, but because the goalkeeper did not have a grip on the ball, Joep was able to get the ball in with a quick reaction, it was on the edge of offside, but the referee approved it 3-1. In the 55 minute PSV got another gift when a stray cross from Mylian was worked into his own goal by an Ajax player 3-2.
After this 1 big chance for Ajax but because Kevin was able to stretch his long legs the ball went just wide via the tip of his toe. Overall I think Ajax deserved the win, but PSV played very well at times. I think the coach can be proud of how his team played, even if they don't take 3 points to Brabant. The Easter weekend the boys will go to an international tournament in Epe, and then continue with the league, leader Sparta will visit Eindhoven. This promises to be another great match.
