PSV O14 not satisfied with point in Amsterdam
On Thursday afternoon, Feb. 28, another important league match was scheduled for PSV O14. The number two against the number three, or Ajax O14 against PSV O14. To keep in touch with leader FC Utrecht, no points should be lost in Amsterdam by the PSV'ers. After the match, which ended in a 0-0 score, there was no jubilation on the Eindhoven side. After all, if there was one team that deserved the three points, it was PSV. But when you don't exploit any of the five 100% chances, it becomes difficult to take the win.
Emir Bars had a chance within 2 minutes, with a free-footed shooting opportunity, but the ball was shot in too softly. After this opening, the game went up and down at a fast pace. In the 9th minute it is the Ajax goalkeeper who mis-hits the ball, Tim van de Heuvel intercepts the ball and sees Isaac Babadi even better free position, plays the ball off, Isaac kicks at the goal but the ball goes just wide. One minute later it is PSV goalkeeper Bart Hamers again who has to save an Ajax breakout. But by coming out well he manages to make his goal small and keep his goal empty. But so quickly the game waves back and forth. PSV has some attacks from the book, but each time they get stranded in the front line. In the last minutes of the first half another great shooting chance for Tim, after Jason van Duiven has bridged many meters, and manages to put the ball ready for Tim. But this time it is the Ajax goalkeeper who manages to save.
After the break it is more and more PSV looking for a goal. A good combination between Jason and Isaac resulted in a shot that hit the post, but the ball rolled back into the field before the goal line. A few PSV corners come well in front of the goal, but no one manages to hit the ball. Ajax on the other hand was finding it increasingly difficult to get out of their own half, so they were unable to become dangerous in the2nd half. Yet then there always remains the risk that they manage to score with a quick breakout, would be very sour, but you have to be wary of it. And the PSV defense certainly is, they don't give anything away today.
With two more loss points as leaders FC Utrecht, the next challenge awaits after a few days of carnivalesque. Next Saturday Feyenoord will visit Eindhoven. But playing like they did against Ajax, the boys need not fear anything.
