Feyenoord A1 too strong for PSV.
Despite PSV taking the lead against Feyenoord in the 21st minute, the points still remained in Rotterdam.
The difference in strength was obvious. Partly because Feyenoord A1 has an average older team and PSV chose to put together a team with B players and mostly first year A1 players. Age and experience (some players still played for the first team last week) are decisive.
As said, PSV took the lead after an attack on the left. At first the ball was blocked by the Feyenoord defense, but Elvio van Overbeek shot the returning ball unerringly.
The lead could not be enjoyed for long, as Feyenoord equalized just five minutes later and before the break it was 2-1. There was nothing to counter either goal.
Feyenoord proved to be the better team after the break as well and it was inevitable that the Rotterdammers scored another.
Eric Verstappen played an excellent game. A crown on his performance was the penalty kick he stopped in the last part of the match.
