MVV D1-PSV D1 3-4 and as the result suggests it was a match with a lot to tell about.
Unfortunately both our "reporters" Cliff and Roel were not present [they knew it] and you have to do it with a short report from my side.
In the first half, PSV played well and let the ball flow quickly.
It was therefore soon 0-1 through a short corner from Mink to Lennerd who curled the ball beautifully into the far corner.
A few minutes later, Mink played the ball through and Lennerd played the ball to Mathias, who took advantage of the opportunity.
PSV kept pressing and there were more chances which eventually led to the 0-3.
This time it was Mathias who crossed the ball high up and Joey was able to lay the ball back to Ertem. He did not hesitate and with a tight shot the ball went past the MVV goalie.
So 0-3 was the score at halftime and the question was not if PSV would win but by how much would PSV win?
After halftime, however, a totally different game with a fierce MVV and it quickly became 1-3 from a corner kick and MVV started to believe in it again. PSV played a bit sloppier and at a lower pace than in the 1st half.
MVV even came back to 2-3 after an indirect free kick.
PSV also had chances, but the goal attempts by Mathias, Joey, Zohiar and Mats did not find the net.
The 2-4 that was in the air came after all, as Mathias was able to score his second of the day after a cross from Gio, and it seemed to be decided.
MVV made it 3-4 from yet another free kick in the closing stages, but time ran out and PSV achieved a difficult victory. A match lasts twice 30 minutes and that is what our boys learned this time.
All in all we are almost "herbstmeister" and that is of course a merit.
