Would today the upward trend started after the game against Helmond Sport be continued by PSV O-12. During the w-up it was clear that the focus was already a lot better than last week. Since the w-up is usually the same as the start of the match, this is promising. Unfortunately Milan is unable to play today due to an ankle injury, and one player is not yet fully fit due to a school camp which, judging by the tone of his voice, has been pretty tough.
Right from the kick-off PSV shows that there is nothing to be gained today by the guests from Maastricht, they immediately try to put pressure on the defenders of MVV, and with some regularity there is very good combination football visible.
In the 6th minute PSV gets a free kick at about 20 meters before the goal of MVV, everyone expects a cross from Mylian and is ready to head the ball in, except those who know Mylian who expect a shot on goal, with extreme precision Mylian manages to get the ball over the goalkeeper and the ball falls with a beautiful arc just under the bar into the goal. 1-0
3 Minutes later it is Martijn who coolly shoots the ball in after a very nice attack over several drives, and passed perfectly by Dylan. 2-0
In the 24 minute it is Deveron who goes on an adventure along the sideline, at full speed he delivers a perfect cross to Dylan who shoots the ball crosswise into the far corner.
In the last minute of the first half, PSV gets another free kick about 20 meters in front of the goal, and of course it is again Mylian who gets behind the ball, this time not high through the air but the ball falls down before that, maybe the ball was touched somewhere along the way, but according to Mylian certainly not. But so the halftime score is 4-0 for PSV.
PSV showed good football in the 1st half, so now it is their task to finish the game like this, from experience we know that things can turn around in the 2nd half. Coach Kevin makes sure to dot the i's and cross the t's at halftime, and asks the players to pay more attention to the small details.
In the 32 minute, the 5-0 is already on the scoreboard. From the busy center Tim manages to find the space on the side, Mylian sees that on the other side of the field Joey has come in well and plays the ball to Joey , who knows perfectly to get the ball into the far corner over the goalkeeper 5-0.
A few minutes later there is another beautiful attack through several players, it is a pity that this attack is not rewarded with a goal by Dylan but ends up in the side netting.
In the 39 minute another goal is scored, a cross from Martijn which Joep does not get on his head quite right, but just enough to get the ball to Mylian who takes the ball out of the air in one go and is unstoppable for the MVV goalkeeper. 6-0
2 Minutes later for many an unclear penalty, but it was given by the referee, who led well, no one commented so the penalty was probably right. Mylian is very reliable today so this penalty also goes in nicely. 7-0.
In the 47 minute Joris gets the ball against the bar, and it is Mylian who pays attention and taps the ball in in a controlled manner, according to the linesman of MVV clearly offside, but it was not Mylian who was offside but a player at the side of the field who clearly did not participate in the game. 8-0
In the last minute of play it is Mats who gives a very nice deep pass to Joey who shoots the ball in very securely. 9-0
A clear and convincing victory for PSV, today they showed that they can play a whole match. Not one chance given away. Feyenoord were off today, so PSV will visit Rotterdam next Saturday as the leaders. It won't be as easy as today, but if the players show a bit more guts and courage they should be able to get 3 points in Rotterdam as well. They clearly showed today that they can play good football. The match is already at 10 o'clock in the morning but it is certainly worth travelling to Rotterdam for our supporters, and they can use the positive support.
