  5. Match report

Easy victory PSV O13 against NEC
Visiting NEC, PSV O13-1 recorded their third consecutive victory. The team quickly overcame a weak start and eventually won 2-8.

The match was barely underway when NEC already opened the scoring. A deep ball did not seem to pose any danger, but between two defenders and the PSV goalkeeper, the Nijmegen striker managed to hit the ball. It was then a piece of cake for him to slide the ball into the empty goal. PSV was awake and soon managed to put the equalizer on the board. A truly magnificent pass from Amir Bouhamdi was tailor-made for Liam Slaats, who coolly slid the ball under the goalkeeper. The Eindhoven talents quickly wanted to put things right and created a number of good chances, but Yani Miguel and Shuryjano Cornecion found their way to the goalkeeper. After fifteen minutes, the 1-2 came after all, when Noah Fernandez found the free Amir Bouhamdi. The outfielder outmaneuvered his man and neatly placed the ball into the net. Moments later, PSV was awarded a penalty kick when Liam Slaats reacted attentively to poor defensive play by NEC. The striker got behind the ball himself and shot it hard into the corner. Bolstered by a large lead, PSV went in search of more goals and managed to find them. Thus Amir Bouhamdi scored his second goal (an exact copy of his first) and just before half time the striker even completed his hat trick, by finishing an individual action hard and high. Thus both teams went into the locker rooms with a 1-5 score.

Also in the second half, PSV remained the dominant side. The team had a lot of ball possession, but struggled in the final stages, creating few chances. The first big opportunity (fifteen minutes before time) was a direct hit. The substitute Gennaro van der Sluis put Yani Miguel away, after which the outside player passed the goalkeeper and calmly tapped the ball into the empty goal. PSV seemed to have their sights set again and were awarded two more penalties in a short space of time. Both were relatively easily taken by Gennaro van der Sluis and Liam Slaats, who completed his hat-trick. Just before time, NEC scored a second goal, when an attacker in the penalty area was given free rein.

So it ended up being an exciting afternoon for PSV O13. After two hat-tricks, three penalties and ten goals, the final score was 2-8. Next week PSV O13 will play a home match; ADO Den Haag will then visit. The match starts at 10.30 am.
