    The report

In an intermediate round for the cup competition, there was as much as one match on the schedule on this Tuesday afternoon. And not just one. Fate had paired PSV against Feyenoord. A week and a half ago both teams also faced each other at Varkenoord. In a game with two faces, the first half a dominant PSV and the second half a better Feyenoord, the match ended 1-1. Which team will manage to qualify for the next cup round?

PSV's start was abysmal. After just one minute, it fell behind 1-0. A cross across PSV's right came out on the far side after which the Rotterdam right-winger made it to the back line, pulled the ball back, then a Feyenoord player kicked the ball into the far corner. PSV was struggling, very struggling, and were lucky that a hard shot in the sixth minute went just over. PSV did not play football. They lost the ball quickly and did not get in front of the enemy goal. Out of nowhere, PSV came alongside in the 23rd minute. Iggy Houben went through on the left and served Shi-jon Martina well, who slotted in the 1-1 goal. Just before halftime, PSV turned the game completely on its head when it managed to convert its second chance immediately into a goal. This time the roles were reversed, as Shi-jon provided the assist to Iggy. What efficiency! Two chances, two goals ...

Soon after halftime, PSV almost got to 1-3. A great cross from Julian Kuijpers ended up with Jaivy Lourens who hit the underside of the crossbar with a volley. The returning ball was shot hard by Sven Simons, but the ball was kicked away just before the line. A minute later goalkeeper Rick Jonkers had to intervene with a distance shot. The Feyenoord striker thought he could score, but captain Luc Netten saved the ball. The game was now going back and forth and a real cup game was born. Feyenoord went on the hunt for the equalizer, giving PSV more space up front. PSV got away well midway through the second half when first a Rotterdam goal was cancelled for offside and later a shot inside the post went back into play. PSV was also unlucky when Iggy just failed to take advantage of a slip by the Feyenoord goalkeeper. In the 66th minute, PSV tied the game. substitute Chahid el Allachi sent Ruben van Bommel into the depths of the net, who reached Jesper Uneken, who slotted in the 1-3. In the last minute a PSV goal was also disallowed for offside, but that did not spoil the fun when the referee closed the game.

A handsome victory by PSV, which after the match itself got to draw the draw for the next round. Captain Luc Netten made sure that PSV gets to go to Amsterdam. AFC is in fact the next opponent.

    Setup:
Rick Jonkers; Seb Loeffen (44' Livano Comenencia), Luc Netten (c), Yaël Gil y Muinos, Julian Kuijpers; Milan Govaers, Matteo Dams, Sven Simons (52' Chahid el Allachi); Iggy Houben, Shi-jon Martina (63' Jesper Uneken), Jaivy Lourens (59' Ruben van Bommel).
