  1. Match report

After two won away games, a home game was finally scheduled today. At the familiar sports complex "De Herdgang" Dommelen was the opponent this time. From the kick-off the home team was fierce and short. This resulted in some nice attacks. A quick goal was inevitable. In the 3rd minute Joey steamed up again on the right side of the pitch, his beautifully cut cross was shot in by Joop. The goal tasted like more. Dommelen was pushed further and further back on their own half and did not get the time to set up an attack. In the 6th minute it was the turn of Niels who got to the back line on the left side of the pitch. However, his attempt at goal was well turned by the goalkeeper. Just 1 minute later Pepijn resumed the game, he saw Rico standing free, who in turn played to Joey. With another fine cross he reached Benjamin, but again the goalkeeper was in the way. It remained one way traffic, Joey had a free kick and Joop had a great individual action. Each time it was the goalkeeper who prevented a goal. After a quick conversion by the guests, Dommelen even managed to score the equalizer in the 13th minute. They could not enjoy it for long, because in the same minute it was Benjamin who managed to value a cross from Joop (2-1). Before the break, the home club wanted to express their field advantage in goals as well. Again it was Joey who laid the ball ready for the head of Joop, this time his header hit the bar. The attack continued, however, and in the rebound it was Joop who laid the ball back to Jay and brought the margin to two (3-1). Still it was not enough. With a quick play recovery from Pepijn on Rico, the latter crossed the entire field with seven-mile boots. Unfortunately, the keeper managed to tap the ball corner. From the corner Jay headed just over. Just before halftime the same Jay found Joop with a razor sharp pass. Now the goalkeeper had no chance on his effort, but the post stood in the way of scoring. After the break little changed. PSV kept pushing Dommelen backwards and within four minutes Joop managed to score his 2nd and 3rd goal. The first was after a brilliant action by Rico. At 5-1 it looked like a shooting gallery. First Joey was allowed to shoot from about 16 meters, then it was Davy's turn. Both times the goalkeeper managed to beat the ball out of his goal, but Joop's effort was too much for him as well. In the 30th minute, Davy, recovered from a nasty ankle injury, seemed to add lustre to his comeback with a goal. A flowing one-two with Joop deserved more than the crossbar on which his effort landed. The home club continued to bombard the Dommelen goal with distance shots. A rock hard shot by Joey was even too much for the goalkeeper (6-1). Halfway through the second half Davy got his reward. Joey saw him free in the corner of his eye and curled the ball around the goalkeeper (7-1). The 8-1 came again in the name of Joop, who scored after good preparatory work by Jay. After shooting at the crossbar for the second time earlier, five minutes before time it was Davy who scored his second of the day (9-1). For a moment, concentration seemed to slacken a bit. Fortunately, this was not the case with Pepijn. With a cat-like save he kept the Dommelen attacker from scoring. The final chord was for Niels. He saw the goalkeeper standing too far in front of his goal and he scored another goal. (10-1). For the first time this season we reached double figures.
