    PSV closes league with win

PSV closed the league on Saturday with an away win over lowly FC Dordrecht. Theoretically, the team could still be in a shared first place, but leader FC Utrecht also won its last match, keeping the O16 one victory ahead.

PSV did its sporting duty in a match that also saw a number of O17 players, some after injuries regain some minutes, including Amin Doudah who was allowed to put on a match shirt as a substitute after nine months of injury. PSV took controlled distance from Dordrecht with four goals spread throughout the match. It has to be said that they missed just as many chances, while Dordrecht also had a number of good opportunities, but were even more sloppy in finishing than PSV. After fifteen minutes Milan opened the scoring with a good pass in the penalty area, shooting at goal almost from the back line and the ball ending up in the goal via a defender, although according to the striker it would certainly have gone in otherwise, 0-1. Dylan made it 0-2 after a fine attack shortly before halftime, when the ball fell at his feet in the penalty area after a good cross from Mo and a through header from Milan, and without hesitation he drove it hard and high into the ropes.

Five minutes after halftime, Milan secured the win with his second when he decisively shot the ball in on the rebound after a shot by Naïm, 0-3. And if it wasn't already the case because of the chances that Dordrecht also got after that, at least he did so just before time with a beauty. Mylian came through on the left and delivered a measured cross to Milan, who took the ball out of the air and shot in hard, 0-4. In injury time, PSV was awarded a penalty after Mylian was fouled by the goalkeeper in the penalty area. After Mathijs claimed the ball and shot unerringly at the crossbar, the match and the competition was over.

Compliments to the boys who played on despite Ramadan. One more tournament, a short trip to China for some, and then the season is over with a vacation ahead.
