  1. Match report

After a weekend of partying and getting back to training it is NEC's turn today. We want to get back to the level before the game against ADO. NEC has already achieved its goal by reaching the Champions Pool. We want to show today that we can do better than last week. NEC can play freely as there is nothing left to play for them.
We started strongly and got the first chance. After ten minutes a quick attack on the right, a cross from Ramon and Sam was the first to get in front of his defender and tap the ball in. A good start. NEC gets few chances in the beginning. The last fifteen minutes before half-time, however, there are plenty of chances. First Ramon shot wide in front of the goal, Sam in front of an open goal against a defender and Martijn hit the bar. NEC also got a great chance but after Yanick's first great safe the attacker managed to shoot the ball hard over. So at halftime no 0-4 or 1-3 but just 0-1.
After the break we continued as we had done in the first half. Passionate and full of new energy. In the first fifteen minutes Ramon got two chances but they did not go in. After just over an hour of play an attack on the left is crossed by Kenneth and it is Arnaut who scores his first league goal of the season. Within two minutes Sam manages to shoot the 0-3 on the scoreboard after a cross from Martijn. The points are in. Now to finish the game safely and without injury and on to some nice days off. All in all a well deserved victory that certainly could or maybe should have been higher. Now on to next week at home against AJAX, who if they win at the Herdgang, can take home the championship. We will do everything we can to at least prevent that.
Happy days and on to next week.
And everyone knows: without a headwind, no kite has ever gone up.
    Bye-bye.
