PSV O13 suffices with one half for victory
After the midweek cup victory over Alphense Boys (0-3), PSV O13 recorded another victory. Again the team triumphed 3-0, a score that was already reached in the first half.
Still, PSV did not start the match well. A nice attack by Excelsior ended up with the striker, who hit the post. The rebound ended - fortunately for the Eindhoveners - just over the crossbar. PSV seemed awakened and took the lead not much later. A clever corner by Pieter van der Beek reached Isaï Middag, which could easily tap in. After this opening goal, PSV remained on top and halfway through the first half they doubled their lead. A beautiful pass went to Raf Vullers, who tested the goalkeeper with a nice shot. The rebound fell to Joep Willems, who tapped in an empty goal. Just before half-time PSV decided the game, when Pieter van der Beek punished a mistake in the Excelsior build-up. The winger passed his opponent and shot in the opposite direction. Despite a difficult opening phase, PSV went into the break with a large lead.
The second half opened promisingly for the Eindhoven players. Isaï Middag had a good chance, but his attempt did not hit the target. Not much later Steyn Mussche hit the bar and a header by Abdullah Hekmat went over. At the other end, goalkeeper Lucca Kiaba had to be alert on one occasion, but the Excelsior striker's effort ended up going wide. PSV had the intention to score more, but could not really be dangerous as the game progressed. After 70 minutes the score was the same as at halftime: 3-0. Thus, PSV ends this match with a victory.
Next Wednesday (at home against KNVB West 1, starting 17:30) and Saturday (at home against FC Utrecht, starting 14:30) the team plays two practice matches. In two weeks the league will resume with an away game against Vitesse.
