The report

Saturday's match against a direct rival in the race to the championship pool was scheduled. FC Utrecht is one place above us and has two more points. So we knew what we had to do.

We started fanatically, but so did Utrecht. The pace, especially in the early stages, was high. Yet we had to wait until the 22nd minute for the opening goal. Noni managed to complete a good solo in a calm manner and bring the score to 1-0. We wanted to push on, but we were not very lucky yet. We were still thinking too much about our own success and that certainly did not benefit the game. Several chances went unused. So shortly after the lead Utrecht managed to score. After a somewhat unfortunate ball in our defense, which was hit completely the wrong way, the Utrecht player was able to put the 1-1 on the board.

After halftime it had to happen. Shortly after the start of the second half, both we and Utrecht had a chance to score, but the score remained 1-1. In minute 50 we scored. Djenairo made it 2-1 with a nice shot into the crossbar. Within five minutes Noni and Mathijs put Djenairo in position again after a nice combination and he scored the liberating 3-1 in a controlled manner. FC Utrecht started pressing a bit more and also got some chances but they did not manage to outsmart Aron.

Next week out to Heerenveen. Take three points there as well and the road to the last eight is open.
