Defeat for PSV O13
On the cold Saturday afternoon, PSV O13 suffered a defeat against Ajax. The Amsterdam peers eventually proved too strong 2-0.
From the first minute it was clear what the field conditions would be like at De Toekomst. Ajax had the ball and looked for openings in the PSV defense. The Brabanders, on the other hand, lurked on the breakaway to inflict pain on Ajax. The PSV defense was well positioned throughout the first half and, aside from a couple of distance shots, only had to allow two opportunities. However, goalkeeper Daan van de Brande managed to keep his goal dry with two good saves. In the counter, PSV struggled to keep possession of the ball, which prevented them from becoming dangerous. Both teams therefore went to rest with a 0-0 score.
In the second half, things quickly went wrong for PSV. A cross from the left side fell between the Eindhoven defenders, allowing the Ajax striker to easily tap the ball in. Despite this goal, the picture remained unchanged and PSV continued to hope for that one chance at the equalizer. Just before time it came. After Ajax lost the ball, PSV changed gear very quickly and with two passes Eus Waayers was sent towards the Ajax goal. He seemed to be able to score the 1-1, but a good block by a defender ensured that this opportunity remained unused. In the final minute Ajax countered for a second goal, which was also the last action of the match.
So a pitiful defeat for PSV O13. After a weekend off, the team will travel to Rotterdam for the third time this season on Saturday, December 8. After previous visits to Feyenoord and Spartaan'20, Sparta Rotterdam is now on the program.
