Shadow program
PSV started the match well. In the beginning, some opportunities were created by good crosses from the side. These opportunities were not taken advantage of. After twenty minutes, PSV got two opportunities to score. The first opportunity, after a nice attack, was shot just wide. The second opportunity was cleared by a Utrecht defender after the FC Utrecht goalkeeper had already been outplayed. In the 27th minute Beslan captured the ball in the heart of the FC Utrecht defense. Besieged by two defenders he got free in front of the goalkeeper and shot in (1-0), this was also the score at halftime. In the first half PSV was mainly sloppy in the passing, as a result of which too few opportunities were created.

FC Utrecht started the second half fiercely and put PSV under pressure immediately. In the 36th minute this resulted in a big chance for FC Utrecht. However, the ball went just wide. In the 45th minute a deep ball was put well wide by Shurandy. Thijs shot in impeccably (2-0). A few minutes later, a nice save by Jeffrey prevented FC Utrecht from scoring the tying goal. PSV could have played off a few more opportunities after that but because the last pass was often not good, no more chances were created.

This was a useful practice match against a nice opponent.
