A tough or rather a black week. The cup has to be emptied completely it seems. A place among the first eight to secure a spot in the NIKE premier league next year as well will be quite a task after this result. First there is Wednesday's big but flattered defeat in the Youth Champions League, and now it is Fc Groningen that keeps the points in their own home. In a game that before halftime shows that we are on top but there are no really big chances. After about fifteen minutes we did take the lead because a defender of Groningen shot the ball into his own goal after a pass from Dirk. After the break the game continued like this and after 75 minutes it was Groningen that equalized because a header went in via the post. Then there are still opportunities for us but Groningen also has chances. Three minutes before time we are empty handed because a Fc free kick is headed in and the score is 2 - 1. A hard blow for us. Today we were again unable to impose our will on the opponent or to play off really big chances and most importantly to hold on to an acquired lead.
But on Monday the focus will be fully on the next game at home against Vitesse because every next point loss can be deadly in the race to the top 8.
Men we are going for it. On to next week. And the sayings of even the darkest hours only last sixty minutes and without valleys you have no peaks we leave behind.
