  1. Match report

Today we will have to wait and see how the players survived the past week, because like every freshmen the PSV U13 boys also go to school camp, and that was last week. I have seen the players last Thursday, and then I noticed that for them it is quite an attack on their bodies, but well you are only young once hey. So let's see how the bodies recovered today. PSV starts the match well, the positional play is good, this leads to a few small chances, it is a pity that Ruben is at least offside otherwise he would have really been gone. NAC lurks on a counter and plays the long ball a lot, but at the back PSV is very attentive. After about 15 minutes NAC gets a bit more grip on the game and starts playing well, at the back NAC is not afraid to intervene when asked to do so, this is how real defenders are still trained. Slowly it is PSV again who show to be the footballing team, but due to mistakes by PSV, NAC can still play too much football. Seb had a shot that went just wide, but that was the last PSV effort of the first half, so we rested at 0-0.
Sometimes I have the feeling that the group understands what the coach wants or what is asked of them. Then they say all kinds of things in the dressing room, but you see little or nothing of that on the field. But with this group it is different, in the first minutes after halftime the players show what was discussed at halftime, and that they understand what the intention is and also implement it, so they learn very quickly. Football-wise, PSV remains the better team, but they must always watch out for a quick breakaway from NAC. The chances for a goal are getting bigger but just that little bit of luck is not there yet. But in the 54 minute finally the well deserved goal. The referee gave the advantage after a foul on Sven, who was able to take the ball with him while falling halfway and put it behind the NAC goalie 1-0. With 5 minutes left on the clock. In the last minute it is Sven who with a brilliant move moves the game to the other side of the field to Shijon who gives the perfect cross to Lars, who heads in perfectly. And I think that was discussed at halftime that the midfielders had to move more and get there? So a wonderful victory, with lots of learning moments. Next Wednesday evening the catch-up game at home against Excelsior U13. See you then.
