    The report

After the good level in last Tuesday's cup game against FC Volendam, which was won 7-0, the match against FC Groningen was on the program today. A tricky team for PSV, as we struggle to win away games against FC Groningen.

FC Groningen tried to put PSV under pressure from the first minute. but PSV could easily get out from under them by good positional play. After about 15 minutes of play, PSV had the game under control. Shortly after, in the 25 minute, PSV got a corner kick from the left side. This was headed through to the right side of the pitch by an FC Groningen defender. There Nigel Thomas intercepted the ball and in one move immediately passed the ball in front of the goal on which Yorbe Vertessen headed the ball into the goal:1-0. PSV continued to control the match and managed to play football in the FC Groningen half. In the 35th minute, a ball was played back to the FC Groningen goalkeeper, but Yorbe Vertessen was able to intercept it. He wanted to play around the goalkeeper, but was stopped by a foul and we got a penalty. It was taken by Vertessen himself. He hit it and we went into the break with a 2-0 lead.

In the second half, PSV started as they had stopped. FC Groningen was pinned down in their own half and we try to make it 3-0. But after the 60th minute PSV sank a bit and FC Groningen got more ball possession. PSV was forced back and in the 79th minute FC Groningen made it 2-1. But PSV eventually made it 3-1 through a goal by Beslan Sagov and so match PSV against FC Groningen ended in a nice win. On March 3, PSV O17 will play the away match against FC Groningen.
