At a more reasonable time, PSV's D2 had to face Gilze-Rijen against v.v. Gilze. On a not very well played field D2 started with Wouter Verstraaten from the D3 in the starting line-up. Due to injuries, illness and vacations, the D2 was not entirely at war strength. After a quick start in which Michael made it 0-1 for PSV, some sloppiness crept into the PSV game. It looked like they were going to adapt to the helplessness of the opponent. There was no good combination and many individual actions went wrong. Yet it was Michael who brought redemption midway through the 2nd half. with a beautifully taken free kick and a little help from the Gilze goalkeeper, PSV got to a deserved 0-2 lead, albeit with difficulty. Unfortunately, PSV still had to fight for the last 5 minutes after Gilze brought the score back to 1-2 with a penalty shot by Clint. Maybe some were still suffering from the carnival.
Man of the match, who else than Wouter Verstraaten. He played a creditable game and it was a nice experience.
