A beautiful day at the Herdgang. The Gilze D1 team comes to visit. Gilze, which took the points last week against bottom-placed Brabantia, awaits a warm welcome. Our boys are looking forward to it. From the kick-off they immediately put pressure on the opponent's half. It quickly became apparent that the fierceness and speed with which PSV played would make the difference in this match. Gilze hardly got a chance to play football in the first half. Yet it was not until shortly before halftime that PSV took the lead through a distance shot just outside the sixteen by Michael. PSV could not really find the space to play football, but what do you want when you play with 21 men on the opponent's half. The 2nd half brought some more tactics from behind. PSV let themselves down a bit more, forcing the opponent to crawl out of their shell. Halfway through the second half it was Jeroen who neatly moved in from the left and gave the impetus for another 3 points, 2-0 with a beautiful shot into the bottom left corner. A few minutes later it was Endy in the penalty area who was given a ball. He could not miss and finished in a controlled manner. A beautiful pingel by the hard working smallest man on the pitch, Olivier Rommen, put an end to Gilze's illusions of even getting close to the PSV goal. Still, Daan had to intervene after Jorrit got a ball in his stomach and suddenly there was room for Gilze to go for the goal alone. The best goal came from Clint. The well-footed left back of PSV, who had been pushed forward several times, set up an excellent one-two and finished it perfectly via the right post. This pounder from 16 meters determined the final score at 5-0, we might have hoped for something more, but playing football against an opponent who can only defend is and remains difficult.
