After a fine and deserved victory a week ago in Kerkrade, PSV played its match today against NEC in Nijmegen.
It was cold and there was also a cold wind. PSV actually started where it left off a week ago. PSV patiently looked for chances. Within 15 minutes it could and should have been 0-2. Lennerd and Joey missed two 100% chances.
After 20 minutes Joey scored the 0-1 with a beautiful marker after a great pass from Jaell. Joey also scored the 0-2 immediately after this goal. Lenn dribbled in from the outside right position and passed the ball perfectly over NEC's last defender. Joey took the pass perfectly and made his second of the afternoon.
NEC didn't really get any clear-cut chances in the first half. A couple of shots from distance that went well wide were the only achievements.
The second half became more sloppy on the PSV side and NEC put more pressure. Without creating any really big chances, NEC pushed PSV back. PSV did not get out of it football wise. After a good shot on the post by NEC, PSV got more space because NEC started to play 1 on 1 at the back.
PSV took full advantage of this and scored the 0-3 and the 0-4 6 minutes before time. The 0-3 came about after good interception work by Joey who then rounded his man with a nice action and played the ball back to Lennerd and scored.
The final goal was scored by Jaell, who masterfully slid the ball into the bottom corner after a good deep ball from Dante.
Another fine victory for the C1 who play next week against Sparta. After the 2-1 defeat earlier in the season, PSV has something to put right in Eindhoven.
