PSV D1 failed to take the three points back to Eindhoven in the away match against RBC D1. The match in windy Roosendaal ended in a 2-2 draw, after a 2-0 halftime score in RBC D1's favor.
RBC was better in the match from the start than PSV and it was not surprising that RBC took the lead through a free kick after 15 minutes. PSV was going to change their tune, but nothing was further from the truth. Loss of ball in midfield was coolly punished by RBC and PSV were lucky that RBC did not make it 3-0 after a 'Bergkamp'. Even goalkeeper Zeus de la Paz made a few saves before half time. Just before half-time Endy Opoku Bernadina passed his direct opponent, but his good cross was unfortunately shot against the post by Aron Schnorrenberg. With a 2-0 deficit, PSV D1 started the second half. However, within five minutes the 2-2 was on the scoreboard! First, Rai Vloet headed beautifully after a nice attack on the left and an excellent cross from Michael Maria, and shortly afterwards Clint Leemans promoted a cleverly taken free kick in the short corner to the equalizer. RBC D1 rarely crossed the halfway line anymore and the wait was on for PSV's redeeming winning goal. One attack after another surged towards the RBC goal, but thanks in part to excellent goalkeeping by the RBC goalie and to several PSV players missing a number of good chances, no more goals were scored. In the race towards the championship, Willem II D1 now has the best papers in their hands, but nothing has been decided yet.
With a hangover we left Roosendaal to enjoy a wonderful performance of the musical Pinokkio in 's-Hertogenbosch in the evening, with Micky Vermeer (Vinnie's younger sister) as one of the shining stars on stage.
Boys, good luck in the upcoming matches and who knows, maybe Willem II D1 and MVV D1 will also spill points.
