This week, due to circumstances, our regular reporters are all at the E2 game. So the E1 is completely without one. And what appears on arrival at the Herdgang, there is also no regular photographer. That would be too bad. No report and no photos. So the ladies in the party put their heads together and decided to do the honors for this week. Well we knew it, we have rarely been so busy.
Right from the kickoff the intentions of our boys became clear. Attack and find the opponent's goal with good combinations.
Very soon this concept seems to be successful. Almost from the kick-off the ball goes to Koen. He came up through the middle and passed to Joey, whose shot just missed the target. Immediately after that, our boys, by fierce interference, manage to reach Davy, who takes a shot without thinking and also just wide. We are writing (roughly, because we don't have a stopwatch) the 3rd minute. In midfield the ball is intercepted by Koen who immediately passes to Sem. He passes the ball to Davy whose shot falls nicely into the net. 0 - 1.
We as spectators get warmed up. That promises a lot for the rest of the match. But ESV also tries and creates chances. With a quick attack their long striker came alone in front of the goal. Kyan, however, knows very well how to narrow the angle and save.
Our boys continue to combine and attack after attack is heading for the ESV goal. A nice action by Sem who passes to Davy, shot just wide. A clever one-two between Sem and Yassin, a bit later a cross from Joey that the goalkeeper only just managed to turn into a corner. Joop runs into all the holes and passes his man regularly. Davy gets the ball about 5 meters in front of the goal, and starts a beautiful show in ball control which results in a turnover. Unfortunately again no goal.
But also in the back we remain careful because moments later Kyan has to save an ESV player who broke through. The resulting corner is also well handled by our keeper.
Joey played the ball back into play, passing to Jay, and his shot was caught by the keeper. There are also goal attempts before halftime by Koen, Jay and Davy (all saved by the goalkeeper).
So at halftime the score is still 0 - 1.
After instructions from trainer Bastiaan, the second half starts energetically. An attack is set up from behind via Koen, Joop and Sem. This ends in a corner. The ball is put between a number of players and Yassin can tap in the 0 - 2. The spell seems broken because a little later Joey passed his man beautifully on the right and hit a nice cross which just missed Sem's head.
A kick from the goalkeeper was intercepted by Koen, who passed to Joop who went full speed towards the enemy goal. The goalkeeper saved at first, but then Yassin put the 0 - 3 on the scoreboard.
However, ESV did not give up yet. A nice combination through the middle allowed them to score 1 - 3.
Almost from the kick-off our boys try again. Through good play in the midfield they reached Joop, who made it 1 - 4 in his own way.
It is almost impossible for the reporters to keep up, because the kick-off starts and soon Jay releases a shot which is still turned away by the goalkeeper. This puts the ball back in play, but Sem, by good and fierce interference, manages to snatch the ball from an ESV player and finishes it alone. 1 - 5.
Then follows an ESV attack on the right, which again through good combination play ends in the goal behind the chance-less Kyan 2 - 5. We have to be careful in the back because our opponent is not giving up.
But our boys don't let this get them down, and continue to try to fool the opponent through good teamwork. Yet ESV get a free kick, which Kyan keeps out of the goal.
Jay gets the ball and tries to find the goal with a dry shot over the ground. Joop manages to hit the ball, making it 2 - 6.
An ESV attack results in a corner which unfortunately lands on a PSV heel and ends up in the goal behind Kyan 3 - 6.
Things are going really fast now because before your reporters know it Davy scores 3 - 7 with a hard shot.
And with ice cold fingers we note the last goal of the match. From the backline the ball reaches Davy, who with a super pass manages to reach Sem. He knows what to do with such chances and scores the 3 - 8.
