The league match between NAC O12 and PSV O12 was played at sports park "Paradijs" in Breda. But to speak of a football paradise, it certainly wasn't. The artificial turf field with pieces put in is in any case not BVO worthy.
The W-up did not bode well for today, the balls went in all directions except where the ball was supposed to go. The start of the match started as expected. In the first minute Kevin had to tap a ball under the crossbar, but miraculously the PSV goalkeeper prevented him from going behind. But the 0-0 did not stay on the scoreboard for long. In the 4th minute NAC got the then deserved lead. If PSV's boys don't start doing things differently soon it could be a big score today. In this competition, the boys have been facing a deficit before, and still managed to come back well every time. And also today the boys showed that they are cut from the right cloth. After they had recovered from the shock, from minute 10 it was PSV who showed how well they could play football. With good play, but certainly also with great commitment, PSV became the dominant side, for NAC there was no other option but to gamble on a counter that would turn out well. But Kevin performed very well and managed to stop the counters of NAC well by keeping very far in front of his goal. In the 13 minute it was Mylian who without thinking took a cross full on the instep, unstoppable for any goalkeeper the ball flew very nicely into the goal and the 1-1 was on the scoreboard. Dylan was also close to scoring a goal with a nice shot, but the NAC goalie managed to stop the ball.
The 2nd half continued as the 1st half ended, with PSV fighting, battling and certainly playing good football, the only thing missing was a goal. A few times a scrimmage in front of the goal, but each time the ball ended up in front of the wrong foot, a goal disallowed for offside, shots on goal that were just not good enough, it seemed as if the ball did not want to go in. We had to wait until the 53rd minute before the deserved goal came. Mylian managed to place a corner perfectly at the 2nd post, and who else but Jesse managed to head the ball in perfectly.1-2
The last few minutes were exciting as NAC started to force everything to score a goal and at least keep one point at home. PSV got away well with a foul by Gioele on the edge of the 16 meters. We thought a penalty kick, but the referee let the game continue Pfffff. Afterwards when we looked back at the footage it turned out that the foul was not in the 16 but just outside it, but a mistake by the referee, who was a good judge, it was a foul. After 8 minutes of injury time the players were relieved to take the deserved 3 points to Eindhoven.
Compliments are certainly in order for the PSV boys, apart from the first 10 minutes they played a great game and deservedly won. Because Feyenoord played equal this afternoon at VVV they are now also the proud leaders of the series. Next week it is already the last league game against Fortuna Sittard, if they win they can go into the winter break as the winner of the series. After the winter break they will then follow the new format and will face an equal opponent every week. But with the progress they are making at the moment, they can also compete for the top places in this competition.
