Twente out. Always difficult and the points are needed. Then you come into the locker room and on the red wall opposite the door it says in big letters: Winners have a plan, losers have an excuse. That's an inside joke. We know what we have to do. We start well and the first 15 minutes are in our favor and then for some inexplicable reason we let ourselves drop back. Twente gets stronger although there was only one big chance in the whole first half and it is for us but it doesn't go in. The 45 minutes are up and we are preparing for halftime. We get a throw-in and it goes straight to a Twente player and from that cross the ball is headed past Yanick. 1 - 0 in minute 47. Halftime. And then it's incredible that in the locker room we only worry about futilities and not about the match. Only the staff is sick to death of our play in that injury time. We are going to draw from a different keg in the second half. We are stronger and have more play. Only the chances are not converted into goals. And then in the 89 minute Sam finishes a good action and drives a pass from Dani into the ropes. The 90 minutes are over. The point is in. Yep. Twente gets some extra time from the referee and in minute 93 a harmless situation along the sideline causes the ball to stay in their possession and with a genuine punt the no 11 manages to get it past our (good goalkeeping) keeper. There we are. Empty handed. Then we enter the dressing room again and those words on that wall hurt even more. No point on the bus. And the other results are not really in our favor either, so we need at least six or more points from the next three games to make it to the first eight in the league table. An unnecessary defeat that is entirely our own fault. How shit does this feel. And then over four hours on the bus for such a result. How naive one can be during a match. What a shitty feeling to have to return home. This is such a thing. But yes we also know that an ashtray on a motorcycle sucks.
