  1. Match report

PSV D2's first move was to Geldrop. The previous confrontation had ended in a resounding victory for PSV, 12-0. Whether it would be the same this time was questionable. Coach Bastiaan had a fully fit core at his disposal.

We encountered a well organized Geldrop because after 10 minutes it was still 0-0. This was a long time ago. Was it the real grass instead of the artificial turf? The checks and adjustments were more difficult than usual, but don't panic, it just took some getting used to.

10 minutes had passed and the diesel started running. The play-in was better, the checks were top, that had to translate into goals. And so it did.
Amar lit the fuse, with a clever goal through the legs of the goalkeeper. 0-1.
2 minutes later a Tilburg combination, Amar back to Justin and it was 0-2.
I could then barely keep up with writing because another minute later Ruud went ahead with the ball, again to the free Justin, and 0-3. How a machine revs up....
Geldrop stood by and watched. Then the handbrake is put on again and the train puffs towards halftime.

Geldrop's goalkeeper then kept then Cody, Ruud and Justin from another goal or it was heading towards double digits again.

Just before half-time a free kick from the home team, no problem for Pepijn, and on the stroke of half-time another free kick, but this time the ball went over. And yet Geldrop does not give up because in the injury time of the first half they still score. The striker's first shot was cleverly caught by Pepijn, but he had no chance on the well-followed second striker. 1-3.

All in all a deserved goal for the home team who, despite the strength of PSV, always tried to find a solution on the football.
1-3 is also the score at halftime.

New goalkeepers after the break for both teams and the home goalkeeper could immediately distinguish himself on a shot by Amar.
Sporadic danger from the home team produces a shot that goes over, and at a free kick Arne is in the right place. On Arne's direct play recovery, Amar comes into possession good cross to Roland and it is 1-4. Geldrop caught cold.

After fifteen minutes in the second half Cody paints a corner kick to the head of Amar who nods in. 1-5.

Two minutes later Jordan fancies himself Maradonna, and sets off for a solo through the axis of the field, past everyone and everything, clever pass to Cody and he only has to tap in. 1-6. Football can be beautiful.

And Jordan hasn't had enough yet, because when he gets possession of the ball a little later, he scores one of the most beautiful goals of the match with a great lob. He can count on applause from trainers, fellow players and supporters alike. For those who have lost count, it is 1-7.
Cody creates another chance for himself and comes face to face with the goalkeeper, but he thinks 7 goals against is more than enough and picks up handsomely.

Huseyin tries to outsmart the goalkeeper, but he doesn't budge.
At the end of the match Armando risked life and limb with a tackle, at exactly the right time and place. Well done.
    The final score is 1-7.

A well-footed Geldrop beating a well-footed PSV. Actually quite a pleasant match to follow. We saw many goals and at times eye-catching football. Quite nice to spend a Saturday morning like that. The absentees were wrong again.
