Unfortunate defeat PSV O15 against rival
After last weekend's lost topper against Feyenoord (3-1), the O15 faced another topper today at their own Campus De Herdgang: Ajax. The Amsterdammers still had the maximum number of points after two rounds of play and also built up an impressive goal difference with 11 for and only 1 goal against. Could PSV recover from last week's loss?
The weather conditions for late September were fine: lovely autumn sunshine and ditto temperature. And a beautiful game. In the early stages, the guests had most of the ball possession. PSV looked for opportunities to put their fast strikers in position. The opening phase was beautiful, without any major chances. Until the 11th minute....with a long ball, Ajax could bring one of the fast forwards into the sixteen and Bram Rovers could only stop him via a foul. Yellow card for Bram and a penalty for Ajax which was converted into a goal. Barely two minutes later Bart Hamers was again able to almost take the ball out of the goal, but this time he was just able to save with his foot. PSV did try, but the final pass was often just off the mark. In the 17th minute they did become dangerous when Julian Kwaaitaal took the ball and played it into space to Elvic Jager who then pounced on the goalkeeper and the rebound from Isaac Babadi went wide. The game undulated up and down and both teams had opportunities to score. PSV had a great chance in the 33rd minute when Tim van de Heuvel intercepted the ball well and via Isaac and Elvic the ball ended up in front of Onesime Zimuangana who struck hard. But the Ajax goalkeeper stylishly tapped the ball out of the goal. Just before half-time, PSV got the lid on its nose when an Ajax player got the ball on the edge of the penalty area and shot the ball inside: 0-2.
After halftime, Ajax missed a great chance for 0-3 after which PSV knotted itself more and more into the match. It was also rewarded for its efforts when Elvic was brought down in the sixteen after a fine individual action. Again a yellow card and a penalty followed. Captain Isaac Babadi took care of this and did not fail. And put the tying goal on the board: 1-2. PSV went looking for more and was close to an equalizer when left back came through and hit a good cross. Unfortunately it just did not reach Onesime, but PSV did get a corner. This led to chaos in the Ajax defense but ultimately did not lead to the equalizer. Indeed, in the 70th minute, Ajax decided the game when it converted at lightning speed and scored the 1-3. This immediately became the final score.
