Game three in the spring series. Off AZ. Difficult every year. Tricky to play against. After arriving at the new newly officially opened sports complex, which looks very nice, we start the preparation.
Pre-talk is clear. Don't give the opponent the impression that there is something for them to get. Then onto the field.
And after exactly 48 seconds, our battle plan can be thrown out. AZ scores. Slack start, no conviction, no ..... you name it. Everything that should be there just isn't there. You can have those days sometimes.
Sometimes it's a day of just not. Today is a day of not at all.
We are just being undercut by AZ. We reach halftime with a 2 - 0 score. Fortunately, I would say. It could have been higher.
The finishing touches in the dressing room. Back on the field. And lo and behold. Now it takes exactly two minutes and 33 seconds to score 3 - 0.
Fortunately we managed to hold on to this score until the end and after 93 minutes the referee blew his whistle for the last time.
We now know where we stand. Fortunately there is no limiter on the bus and we can head for Eindhoven.
Next Saturday away again and this time to Utrecht. It is always difficult there too so we have been warned.
