    The report

PSV had an upper hand throughout the first half, but did not manage to express this superiority in goals. In the second half, the Spartans had the best of the game. In the end, Sparta managed to win the match 2-0.

PSV started the game well and managed to force Sparta back on their own half. Despite this superiority, PSV hardly managed to create any opportunities. In the 15th minute PSV had the first opportunity of the match, but a shot from the edge of the penalty area went just wide. The home club also tried to outsmart PSV with two shots, but neither hit the target. The best chance for PSV in the first half was in the 27th minute, but it was shot just wide from close range. PSV was on top but lacked sharpness. As a result, it was hardly dangerous. Sparta did not create any chances either, so both teams went into the break with only one goal.

PSV started the second half sloppily. By repeatedly making the wrong choices, PSV suffered much and unnecessary ball loss. As a result, they were constantly behind. Too many duels were lost, allowing Sparta to grow into the match. After fifteen minutes of play, Sparta had four opportunities to shoot at goal. The shots went wide or the PSV goalie managed to prevent a goal. A goal for the Spartans was inevitable and in the 54th minute the home team took the lead. A cross from the right was shot hard and low, 1-0. PSV could not make a fist of it to make things difficult for Sparta. Only in the closing stages did PSV go on the attack, but two shots from distance did not hit the target. Because PSV took a lot of risk in the closing stages, Sparta was able to score again in injury time. But this goal was only for the statistics. In the end, PSV lost the match 2-0.
