The report
After playing and winning a friendly game last Wednesday against a regional KNVB team (6-0), today we had to fight for prizes. PSV O13 had already advanced to the last 16 in the cup and a win meant another round.
Opponent is FC Emmen O13. The intentions of the guests are soon visible, they play with two strikers and quite some physicality on the axis, PSV will thus have to make the game. As expected, PSV is therefore the most attacking team, but does not get beyond the 16 meters. The first big chance is for Emmen. A quick breakaway followed by a distance shot falls on the roof of the goal. In the 21st minute there is only the first big opportunity for PSV. It is Jesper who tries with a shot in the short corner, after Ruben has played the ball free. But the goalkeeper is also in the right place. PSV continues to dominate and the chance for the opening goal is getting closer, although Emmen still manages to keep it well shut. In the 27th minute - for variety - a short corner from PSV. Ruben crosses the ball, the goalkeeper can only just tap it past the second post, but there is Jaivy, who reacts very attentively and quickly lays the ball back to Jesper, who puts the leather hard against the ropes: 1-0. Within a minute, Chahid got the ball to Ruben with a stick ball, or the stick of the week according to trainer Tim. And so it becomes 2-0 before halftime.
Little change in the match picture after halftime either. PSV remains the dominant player, now and then Emmen comes out carefully, but they are not really threatening. In the 37th minute it was goalkeeper Niek who managed to reach Ruben, who quickly played the ball through to Jesper, who then worked the ball over the last Emmen man and found himself alone in front of an empty goal to make it 3-0. And again two goals are scored within one minute, again it is Jesper, this time from the rebound after a turned shot by Sven: 4-0. Emmen still then comes back at 4-1, but in the 52nd minute it is Sven who puts down a corner at the first post and sees Jesper score with his head (5-1). Two minutes later Chahid reacts excellently to a deflected shot by Jesper and makes it 6-1. The final chord comes after good preparatory work by Chahid. This time he sets Shijon free, seemingly a bit far to the side, but Shijon pops the ball into the short corner hard: 7-1. Immediately afterwards the final signal follows.
Next week der league resumes with a home game against De Spartaan 20 from Rotterdam. Kickoff is at 11 a.m.
