A1 resumed the competition with the home match against FC Utrecht.
It became a lively match with many goals.
FC Utrecht took the lead, scoring 0-1 through Van der Stoep shortly after the start.
PSV answered after 22 minutes when Van den Hurk used a penalty. The occasion was a mistake by an FC Utrecht defender on the goal line next to the goal. A spot where Mohamed Rayhi could not have been dangerous, but the foul against him resulted in a deserved penalty kick.
PSV pressed on and through an attack on the left, Geraldo Antonio crossed. Anthony van den Hurk could then easily shoot in.
Still before half-time FC Utrecht came back. Maletic was able to move unhindered inside the penalty area and put the ball past goalkeeper Verstappen.
PSV came out of the break well and immediately showed a clear desire to claim victory. Through a combination in midfield, Mohamed Rayhi eventually got the ball. His shot left the goalkeeper no chance.
Back and forth there were several attacks, but they did not lead to goals.
