PSV showed too much respect for the opponent from Milan in the first half.
Thus, Inter was able to shoot in the 0-1 after only fifteen minutes when Bessa was able to pass freely. After half an hour, PSV lost Peter van Ooijen. Alexander Jakobsen was his replacement. The second Inter goal fell after more than half an hour. Inside the penalty area Longo got the ball and on the turn he shot the goal.
The second half was clearly for PSV. They took more initiative. Thomas Horsten had a good chance but the ball went wide. Finally, it was Mohamed Rayhi who scored the tying goal. He got the ball on the point of 16 meters and shot beautifully into the far corner. Just before time Thomas Horsten scored, but the goal was disallowed for offside.
PSV continued to push but did not equalize.
