In the beginning of the match, both teams were still searching and there was a lot of unnecessary ball loss by both. After ten minutes, PSV became stronger and took control of the match. PSV got some opportunities, but because the last pass was not good, no real chances were created. After more than 20 minutes, the home club took the initiative. This resulted in several goal-ready chances within a few minutes. A cross went wide, a shot went just over and one hit the post. PSV crawled through the eye of the needle several times, but in the 28th minute, luck was not on their side. A shot by a Volendam player was initially denied by Kevin Gadellaa, but in the rebound the ball was tapped in, 1-0. PSV immediately tried to come back, but a shot by Martijn Zuijderwijk was turned away by the Volendam goalie. In the quick counterattack through the center of PSV's defense, a Volendam player got free in front of the PSV goalie and signed the 2-0. Just before halftime, PSV was close to a goal. Volendam's goalkeeper could not control a shot by Joep van den Berk. The ball went over the keeper and he was able to grab it in the second attempt.
PSV tried to tap from a different keg in the second half, but this did not yet yield a field advantage. In the 42nd minute the home team scored again. A corner was initially cleared by a PSV player, but in the rebound a Volendam player shot the ball in, 3-0. PSV did not let up and three minutes after this goal they finally scored. Deveron Fonville turned away nicely from his defender and played the ball to Mohamed Nassoh. With a flawless shot into the far corner, Mohamed scored the 3-1. PSV tried to force something after that but were unable to push Volendam in defense. Some opportunities were created, but they were not taken. Volendam also got some chances that were not taken advantage of. Four minutes before the end of the game, the home team scored and closed the game, 4-1.
