Today the brotherly battle between PSV E1 and PSV E2 was on the program. The dress rehearsal last Wednesday had ended in a 3-3 draw with the E2 coming back from a 3-0 deficit. From the kick-off the E2 took the initiative and passed the ball around well, without creating any real chances. The first attack of the E1 does produce danger. Arne passes a nice cross to Davy who shoots wide. The E2 reacts immediately and sends Greg deep, but Pepijn saw through and was able to intervene in time. The E2 remains dangerous and a little later it is Koen who sets Sem free but his shot goes wide. The E1 are searching and not defending well gives Sem another chance, but he shows mercy. However, on his 3rd chance after a ball from Greg he scores the 0-1. The E2 is a lot fiercer in the duels and this gives them quick possession of the ball. When Greg won a duel in midfield, he was sent deep and scored the 0-2. The E1 must now react and Arne finds Yassin with a nice cross, but he just cannot reach a fellow player. Moments later, Joop sets up a nice dribble on behalf of the E2, which is blocked by Pepijn. So we go into halftime with a 0-2 lead for the E2.
Immediately after the kick-off, the E1 gets an opportunity through Roland, but Kyan is ready. A little later Roland scored the tying goal after some poor defending. The E2 gets stronger again and in front of Pepijn's goal it is a shooting gallery, but Sem and 2x Joop are parried by Pepijn. Moments later the E2 is again dangerous through Joop who shoots just in front. The E1 make themselves heard again and a shot by Davy goes out via the inside post and Kyan watches a shot by Arne go wide. Halfway through the 2nd half Tijn advances and unleashes a nice shot on which Pepijn is chance-less 1-3. Then Joop, after a deep pass from Sem, and Greg with a shot sprinkle some more salt in the wounds by signing 1-4 and 1-5. At the other end, Kyan made a good save to keep Roland from scoring. The final chord is for Jay who scores the 1-6 with a nice lob. In the last minute it is Davy who puts the 2-6 final score on the board.
Congratulations to all the boys because after all you are 1 team. Next week in Heerenveen on the big field you have to do it together.
