Unfortunate defeat PSV O13

On Wednesday night, PSV O13 suffered an unfortunate defeat. The team lost 1-0 to Vitesse. The only goal of the game fell in the final minutes of the match.

In the first half, both teams were very competitive. PSV gave away few chances, but because Vitesse was fiercer in the duels, PSV also had difficulty creating chances. Only once did the Eindhoven players become really dangerous, but a header from Eus Waayers fell just wide of the wrong side of the post. After half an hour the score was still 0-0.

After half time, the game became more open. PSV did not play strong, but was close to scoring 0-1 through two sharp crosses by Raf van de Riet. The biggest chance, however, was for Jayden Ettienne. After a scramble, the outside right appeared free in front of the goalkeeper. His attempt disappeared wide, however. A minute later, Vitesse had their first real chance. A long-distance shot was blocked by the PSV defense, but fell at the feet of a Vitesse player. His effort fell past goalkeeper Daan van de Brande into the far corner. Just before time, PSV was trailing 1-0. In the last five minutes, the Eindhoven players were unable to repair the damage.

Based on the odds, it was an undeserved defeat for PSV O13. In three days time the next match will be played at FC Utrecht.
