  1. Match report

    Final 5:
Another frontrunner visiting the Herdgang. Vitesse today. After last week's performance we just want to pick up the thread today and also beat Vitesse. We do start a bit messy and so does Vitesse. But after about fifteen minutes the line is back in the game. The venom, as agreed beforehand, is there again. We put Vitesse under pressure and are better and also get nice opportunities. After 20 minutes Laros sent Martijn on his way and he popped the ball high into the cross to his former teammates. Good teamwork and brilliantly finished. But we continue. Less than ten minutes later a nice attack on the right causes again Laros to cross the ball brilliantly and then it is Nicolai who shoots in the 2 - 0. We still get chances but the net is not found before halftime.
The pep talk is there then. Keep going, especially keep going.
After the break pick up sus. But things are different. After an unnecessary foul, or perhaps the referee should have held his whistle in his hand rather than between his lips, Vitesse scores from the free kick awarded. A small stumble. So after 48 minutes it's just 2 - 1.
The second half is also messier than the first and the game is also less. Still Vitesse does not really get big chances but it remains dangerous with a goal difference that we know. After an hour of play Martijn, after a beaten attack by Vitesse, travels once more on the right side and after his acceleration the opponent is out of sight and he manages to reach Nicolai with a great cross and he shoots in the liberating third goal. The points are in. Sam hit the post after a real Lammers action, but nothing changed. It is worth mentioning that in the last minute Lennerd had a great action and kicked the ball in one go from the center line over the goalkeeper but the ball went inches wide. The goal of the year will have to wait but this would have been one.
Next Wednesday AS ROMA comes to the Herdgang and then we go for the quarterfinals of the Youth League. With this attitude we are definitely not hopeless.
We will go for it because everyone knows that : Winning and then resting on your laurels is a defeat.
Men until Wednesday. Have a great weekend.
    Goodbye.
