After the fine league overture against Vitesse (5-1 victory), the away game against Alphense Boys was on the program. The only non-BVO team at the highest level of the O15 competitions. A team that coincidentally also started the competition with a 5-1 victory, as NAC Breda was sent back to Brabant scoreless. Last weekend, however, the team lost narrowly (4-0) to Sparta Rotterdam, taking third place in the league table. Behind the only two teams that have been clear so far: Sparta, who have already won two league games, and PSV, who were out of action last weekend due to circumstances. Could PSV follow up the strong performance against Vitesse?
PSV had a great start and could have taken the lead after just 30 seconds when Sami Bouhoudane almost shot the ball, but the ball grazed an opponent, sending it narrowly wide. PSV was supreme in that early phase. It took until the 8th minute before the first goal fell. Captain Onesime Zimuangana put good pressure on the goalie of Alphense Boys and got hold of the ball after which it was a piece of cake to score. PSV failed to push on and left some chances and opportunities unused. And then you know that the ball only has to fall wrong once. And so it did. An Alphense Boys cross landed on the hand of a PSV player and the referee awarded a penalty to the home team. A penalty that was taken and the score was suddenly 1-1. Fortunately, PSV quickly put things right again. A cross from Onesime landed at the feet of Raf van de Riet, who shot well inside: 1-2. PSV failed to extend the score before halftime and put the game to bed.
After halftime, the game was the same: PSV creating the chances, but forgetting to decide the game. Alphense Boys hoped for a surprise. It was only in the 58th minute that PSV decided the game when Onesime passed the ball to Sami Bouhoudane, who shot the 1-3. The same Sami shot hard at the cross a little later. After that Robin van Duiven scored in the final minute, after excellent preparation by Thijs Jansen, the final score was 1-4.
Thus, PSV O15 remained unbeaten and next weekend follows the home game against Feyenoord.
