The circumstances -playing under a nice sun and in a stadium- could not inspire PSV to great heights on Saturday. The away game against Brabant United was far from entertaining, although the team again showed two important qualities: defensively the team is almost unbeatable (they have not conceded a single goal in 4 league games), and offensively there is a lot of scoring power among several players, which almost guarantees goals. A nice thought when things don't go as well as they did last Saturday, because PSV certainly did not outplay Brabant United.
Although PSV opened the score early on -Yasin cleared the ball well with two opponents at his back after which it ended up at the feet of Joop on the right side of the 16-yard box, who took a direct hit and slotted the ball into the far corner - they failed to take a large lead in the first half, and at halftime it was still only 0-1. Ten minutes after halftime, Sekou doubled the margin to 0-2 with a fantastic goal. From the edge of the penalty area, after an individual action, he suddenly took the ball with his left foot and it hit the right cross. In the 73rd minute, Yasin decided to try his luck and hit the same cross from the left side of the box. The Brabant United goalkeeper only heard this one fly by, and was utterly hopeless with that great kick.
A minute later, Arne rounded off a preparatory action by Yasin and Gregory on the right excellently by firing the ball dry into the far corner, setting the final score at 0-4.
PSV will play the home game against NAC next week.
