  1. Match report

Sportpark "de Kievit" was the battleground of the last league match before the returns start. PSV visiting vvGeldrop, for Joep and Sven no unknown territory and for Fysio Claudia a home game. PSV started strongly this time with a lot of commitment and good football. Geldrop did not really come into it in the first half. Aaron opened the score after about 10 minutes from a pass from Olivier, 0-1. The excellent play of PSV created a lot of space to play football. A beautiful dribble by Endy soon after the first goal gave PSV a 0-2 lead. A shot by Vinnie from outside the 16 was not handled well by the Geldrop goalkeeper, 0-3. PSV kept up the pace and left and right the backs, Clint and especially the driven Sven came forward and provided extra pressure and danger. A beautiful one-two between Endy and Jeroen the latter finished off very controlled, 0-4. Due to the high tempo Jorrit and Rai finished the job for PSV before halftime, 0-5 and 0-6. After halftime, PSV took the throttle back a bit. Michael determined the final score early after halftime with a beautiful goal, 0-7. But that nothing more happened is less true. A sloppy mistake in the backline was almost punished by vvGeldrop. Daan intervened but the referee could not prevent a penalty. Like a fox on his prey Daan kept his goal clean, he tapped the ball neatly out of the right corner. Daan had more to do than his colleague Jeroen in the first half. Twice he had to stop a broken through player. Just before time Sven pushed again along the sideline, the ball was over or not, the referee whistled and.......Sven disagreed and gave the ball another kick. The referee considered this a red card (very lame) and the driven Sven could unfortunately leave the field.
Afterwards I asked the coach for his story: "A fine first half in which the space was used very well and the actions were excellent. It was a good representation of last week's training sessions. The second half was a little less, the spaces were closed because they came to the ball more. But what do you want when you are already leading 0-6 it is logical that almost everyone wants to get a goal. Because of this there were less chances for PSV and automatically more space for Geldrop because it was quite open at the back. Despite maybe his mistake, Sven was the Man of the Match for me. Players, Trainers and Supervisors Congratulations!
