PSV did good business in the cup competition on Saturday. In clammy Waalwijk, the O17 of Brabant United was beaten 0-2 at home.

Left back Steven was at the basis of the beautiful 0-1. Coming from his own half, he combined with Robin to get to the back line, and with a measured cross enabled Joel to head in his first of the match at the far post. Just before halftime the striker also had the 0-2 on his shoe when the ball fell at his feet after the goalkeeper half-passed a ball shot by Leandro that fell in but went wide in the tangle.

Although PSV seemed to put the game to bed soon after the break with another fine goal - Amar sent in an excellent cross from the right which was neatly headed in at the far post by the incoming Joel - the otherwise well-managed referee caused disbelief on the PSV side in the 57th minute when he ruled that an excellent save by Mike in a 1-1 situation had to be cancelled out and a penalty awarded. Mike then whipped the unjustified penalty kick out of his goal with a terrific save. Fifteen minutes later Mike had to play again when the referee again and this time rightly awarded a penalty after a foul by Lars. The same player again got behind the ball, but shot weakly for Mike to take his 2nd penalty of the afternoon.

After the match Amar who conducted the draw paired PSV in the next round with ADO Den Haag's O17 (away). Next Saturday, PSV will play at home against FC Groningen.
