The first fifteen minutes of this match were indeed a struggle. Geldrop showed good commitment and strong defensive play. PSV was running at full speed, mounting one strong attack after another. It was only a matter of time before the goal fest would erupt. Surely Robin scored one of the nicer goals of the day, by taking the ball straight on the slipper after being taken by the chest. A few minutes later Ruud, coming from the left, was successful twice, first with a long distance shot and then with a clever nick. Even before halftime the scoreboard was 5-0, with Robin and Cody once again cashing in.
After halftime our boys were even more eager to find the nets. Within minutes it was already 7-0 through a brilliant long-distance shot by Jordan and a goal by Cody after beautiful interplay with Hus and Roland. Geldrop, however, did not give up. Where before the break they were hardly attacking, Pepijn had to act a few times to keep his goal clean. Defensively, the opponents also tried to hold their ground, under the relentless leadership of the long central defender. But PSV's forwards were unstoppable. The last five goals came in varying ways; through flashy team play, solo actions and strong from distance.
