The Report
Final number four with Willem II as opponent today, traditionally a difficult bump. We started the game sharp, we were the better team but we did not create any big chances. After about 20 minutes we manage to score from a well taken corner by Sadilek, which is well headed in. But the referee disallowed the goal for reasons unknown. At half time the referee said that he had seen a PSV player foul the Willem II goalkeeper. A pity but we will have to accept this.
Then at halftime it was time to connect the dots. It must be said, however, that the game looked somewhat chaotic.
After halftime, we set to work to achieve our goal of three points. The game is clearly better. Less chaos more line. Willem II is now really the underlying side. It is therefore waiting for a goal from PSV. A couple of corners by PSV bring out the best in the goalkeeper of Willem II as he manages to save three times a nicely headed ball from his goal. Then it was time for coach Geert Brusselers to make a change and bring on Amar Catic with just over 10 minutes to play. After only three minutes it is Amar who converts a good pass from behind into the deserved lead.
The last minutes we also play out professionally today and thus go to Eindhoven with a minimal score, but with the three points. Next Tuesday we play the UEFA Youth League match against Benfica at the stadium. So there we have to show that we can also hold our own on a European level. Good luck.
Lineup: van de Meulenhof, Teze, Soulas, Obispo, Sadilek, Gakpo (89th Schoonbrood), Hattu (88th Tanriver), Piroe, Lonwijk ( 77th Catic) and Konings.
