PSV O13 shares points with Feyenoord
On the first matchday of the spring competition, PSV O13 played a draw in Rotterdam. Against their Feyenoord peers, the team failed to get past 1-1 despite good opportunities.
Both teams started the match offensively. PSV had the ball a lot, but struggled to get through Feyenoord's compact organization. Feyenoord had the first chance of the game just under ten minutes in, when the outside right had free rein on PSV goalkeeper Lucca Kiaba. However, both Rens Boon and Steyn Mussche managed to get past him, foiling this opportunity. Not much later, PSV's first opportunity did hit the mark. Sami Bouhoudane received the ball halfway down the Feyenoord half and shook off an opponent. While the Rotterdam defense expected the striker to take action, he shot the ball into the far corner with a beautiful curve. This 0-1 also marked the half-time score.
In the second half, the first chance was for PSV. From a corner Sami Bouhoudane managed to head the ball hard towards goal, but a Feyenoord defender cleared it away from the goal line. The Rotterdammers could not really get dangerous, but they equalized about ten minutes before time. The left winger cut inside and shot the ball hard against the post. Since the Feyenoord striker was the only player to react, it was a piece of cake for him to tap in the 1-1. PSV had some good opportunities through Sami Bouhoudane and Gino Verhulst, but both players were unable to find the goal. Thus PSV O13, despite a number of missed chances, did not get beyond a draw.
Next Tuesday, the team plays a cup game at the Alphense Boys (kickoff 6:30 p.m.). Next week the team plays its first home game after the winter break, when Excelsior comes to visit. The match at PSV Campus De Herdgang starts at 11:00 am.
