PSV O13 does not get what it deserves and loses to Sparta

After an exciting match, PSV O13 suffered a woeful defeat. Although the Eindhoveners certainly deserved a point, the final score of 1-2 was on the board after an hour of play. The Spartans' winning goal fell in the last minute of the match.

There was little to enjoy in the first half for the neutral spectators. Sparta had the ball frequently, but failed to create any chances. Also because PSV did little with the ball possession, both teams went to the dressing rooms with 0-0.

After halftime the match got underway. Sparta's striker was soon dangerous, but his effort lacked direction. The biggest chance, however, was for PSV striker Robin van Duiven. The striker came face-to-face with the goalkeeper and passed the post with a lob. His attempt seemed to cross the goal line, but the referee ruled that the ball was cleared before the line. Moments later, Robin van Duiven was put away by Nicolas Verkooijen, used his body well and shot the ball tightly into the far corner. Five minutes after the opening goal the score was level again. A deep ball from Sparta was not well cleared, after which the ball was shot into the corner. PSV was not deterred by this, however, and was close to taking the lead again three ball touches after the equalizer. The Sparta goalkeeper had a good reflex to keep Van Duiven from scoring his second goal.

While both teams were already expecting a draw, Sparta eventually took the win. A cross was badly cleared, after which the striker of the Rotterdammers could shoot the ball hard inside. PSV pressed on one more time and created a huge chance, but Julian van Esdonk headed onto the bar. Directly after this chance the referee whistled for the last time, taking the three points to Rotterdam.

Despite the fact that PSV O13 deserved more, they did not take any points from this match. Next week the youngsters from Eindhoven will play an away match against Ajax at De Toekomst.
