If you want to stay on top you have to take points, if you don't want to get relegated you have to take points. And those two teams are playing each other today. PSV starts well, playing well and not doing anything thoughtless. Only the chances do not fall from the trees like ripe apples. There are actually very few chances for either side. PSV manages to keep 73% ball possession, maybe 74%, but no big chances. The opponents were also unable to create any and so we rested with the familiar glasses.
Immediately after the break we want to push on and after four minutes it is Bram who comes through on the right and passes a cross which is headed by Rai and Geraldo takes the ball and scores the deserved 1 - 0.
De Graafschap have to do something now if they want to get another point or three. So there is more room for us. Especially Rayhi shows himself and after a great solo he has the second goal on his shoe but the crossbar bothers him.
So we slowly go to the end with still that 1 - 0 score. Ten minutes before time the Graafschap comes through and the opponent manages to get around Jesse but Jorrit is well on his way and manages to turn the ball into a corner with his knee. That is quite a shock. But we pick it up and in the very last minute Rayhi starts a solo from the left and after several obstacles he manages to score the well-deserved 2 - 0 to take the three points.
Even though it was not really good today the points are in so that is the progress with last week. Next Thursday the away game to Heerenveen. An opponent who has won the last five games. So we have been warned. Seven finals to go. Success.
