Handsome recovery PSV in Volendam
PSV O16 had to visit Volendam on Saturday, where it received a painful slap on the wrist in the last meeting between the two teams last year. This time the proportions were completely different, as evidenced also by the fact that the trainers handed out free jokers after the match. Although PSV delivered a very mediocre first half, that was more than rectified in a fine second half.
The poor start in the first half was paid for with a Volendam goal as early as the fifth minute. PSV was childishly outplayed in the penalty area after which the striker was able to pick a corner completely free for Rick and make it 1-0. After the Volendammers missed a great opportunity to make it 2-0 just over five minutes later, occasional striker Jasper rewarded himself in the 13th minute with a fine move. He put the left back under good pressure, snatched the ball from him and immediately sought the penalty area. He outplayed another defender and finished in a controlled manner in the left corner, 1-1. However, Volendam managed to take the lead again midway through the first half through an individual action in which Rick was left defenseless by a diagonal into the far corner to make it 2-1.
Although also in the second half the first big chance was for the Volendammers, PSV managed to recover excellently in it and played a good and entertaining second half in which it dominated. In the 46th minute, PSV managed to come back from a deficit for the second time in the match through a very nice goal by Jaivy, who was played well in the penalty area by Dylan and with a beautiful action outplayed his opponent and almost from the back line shot the 2-2 into the far corner. Over ten minutes later, PSV managed to take their first lead with an even more beautiful goal by another O15 recruit. Mo laid the ball back in the penalty area to the incoming Chahid, who managed to outsmart the outflowing goalkeeper with a great stick and take PSV to 2-3. In the 60th minute, Mo then put the game to bed with a great move. On the left flank he first sent his opponent into the woods with four hooded moves and then delivered a sharp cross. Insofar as it did not already disappear straight over the back line into the Volendam goal, it was headed in by a defender just to be sure. Just for the action: Mo 2-4.
All in all, a fine match and a good result after a turbulent week. PSV will play the home match against Fortuna Sittard next Saturday at 11:30 am.
