The report
PSV played the last match of the first half of the season at Het Kasteel in Rotterdam against SPARTA O19. Both sides were already qualified for the championship pool. The first opportunity was for Sparta, only the shot went wide. PSV's first chance in the nineteenth minute was an immediate hit, a free kick on the corner of the sixteen meter was shot directly via the head of a Spartan by Mohamed Ihattaren. PSV could not enjoy this lead for long. The Rotterdammers equalized with a shot from the penalty area in the 23rd minute. After this, there were some shots back and forth that neither goalkeeper had too much trouble with. In the 39th minute there was a beautiful attack by the PSV boys. The ball came via Ihattaren to Mathias Kjolo, who passed the ball precisely to the incoming Damian Timan, who did not hesitate and shot the 1-2. With this lead we went to rest.
Ruud van Nistelrooy's boys started the second half well, a cross from substitute Madueke Chukwunonso ended up with Oliver Horvath. This shot the 1-3 in the 50th minute. In the 58th minute Maxime Delanghe made a nice save on a Spartan header. The game then quietly drew to a close, as it had become very cold at Het Kasteel. In injury time, Chukwunonso had a whim. After a nice solo from the sideline he finished neatly in the short corner and brought the final score to a deserved 1-4 in favor of PSV O19. After the winter break they can now focus on the Champions Pool and the cup tournament.
