PSV O13 straightens its back and books victory over Feyenoord
On the cold Saturday morning, PSV O13 recorded a victory. The Feyenoord peers were swept aside 2-0. The Eindhoven players were the better side throughout the match and deservedly so.
PSV started the match stormily and had two excellent opportunities to open the score within the very first minute. Robin van Duiven However, Wessel Kuhn (shot opportunity) and (header from a corner) did not yet have their sights set, so both chances were lost. In the remainder of the first half, PSV remained the superior team. They controlled the game and kept Feyenoord under pressure. This resulted in two more shot opportunities for Julian van Esdonk, but his attempts were a prey for the Rotterdam goalkeeper. As no more goals were scored, both teams went into the locker rooms at 0-0 at halftime.
Even after tea, PSV remained on top. The team created a number of good chances, but always had their sights set low. Even the best attack of the day did not yield a goal; via the right side of the pitch the ball ended up, over several drives, with the up-and-coming Raf van de Riet. The left back crossed to Eus Waayers, but the striker just could not reach the ball. Yet PSV took the lead shortly after this opportunity. A corner from Raf van de Riet reached Wessel Kuhn, who got in front of his opponent and headed in hard. Moments later, PSV decided the match when Zaid El Bakkali put the 2-0 on the scoreboard. The midfielder passed two men, was stronger than the third opponent and shot the ball convincingly into the far corner. In injury time, again Zaid El Bakkali and Joep Vermeulen had chances to put a third goal on the board, but their attempts disappeared over and off target.
So a good victory for PSV O13. The Eindhoveners controlled the entire match, created several chances and did not give away a single opportunity. Next Tuesday Hidde van Boven's team will play its last match before the winter break: AZ will be the opponent.
