Draw against Feyenoord for PSV O14
After the players and staff enjoyed a sports meal at De Herdgang, they traveled to Rotterdam on Thursday afternoon. The league match against Feyenoord was on the program. If PSV wanted to stay in contention for the championship, there was only one option today: win. Should the three points not go to Eindhoven, PSV would be eliminated from the championship in the winter. Both teams were always evenly matched in the past, so it promised to be an exciting match. It turned out to be an exciting match with a high tempo in which both teams eventually scored once. PSV was thus eliminated for the championship.
After the game had well and truly started, both teams had already missed a great opportunity to score. In the fifth minute another opportunity for PSV. Isaac Babadi managed to move the game well to the other side of the pitch, Emir Bars was free to take a shot, but the ball went a few centimeters over the bar. In the ninth minute Feyenoord does manage to score. From an impossible angle the ball falls into the net. The game continued to go up and down at a high pace. In the twentieth minute it is Emir Bars who makes a rush from about forty meters. Emir keeps the overview and manages to put the ball right to Jason van Duiven. From the side Jason manages to stroke the ball over the Feyenoord goalkeeper, equalizing the score. Both teams had some small chances, but the goalkeepers kept their goal clean.
After halftime, the same picture as in the first half. An up and down game in a high tempo. In the 40th minute, Jason's shot went just wide. Isaac's shot also went just wide. As the second half progresses, it is Feyenoord that gets the upper hand. PSV had to pull the brake at the back several times, allowing Feyenoord to take several free kicks just outside the penalty area. But every time it is PSV goalkeeper Bart Hamers who does not want to give way. He keeps his goal clean with some good saves. Despite the fact that Feyenoord has the pressure on, there are some opportunities for PSV to come out quickly. But neither team manages to score anymore. So the 1-1 score remains on the scoreboard.
Afterwards, trainers Vincent Heilmann and Jonaas Kolka were satisfied with the game shown. With three league games to go, PSV is already assured of a place in the top group after the winter break. They now have time to improve their play even further, in order to compete for the championship after the winter.
