After the week with international obligations and before the week with the Youth League match in Munich, Heerenveen comes to Eindhoven. And today the points are expensive. Heerenveen would also like to qualify for the Top 8 competition after the winter break for the championship. So we are keen to keep the points, the needed points, in Eindhoven.
And the statistics are good. After the match: 19 goal attempts, 8 goal chances.
So according to the statistics, the points stay in Eindhoven. But Heerenveen's goalkeeper clearly thinks otherwise. He grabs, as a substitute because the No. 1 was injured at the last minute, everything. And then everything. This obviously also has to do with us and the way we deal with the chances we are given. But credit where credit is due. The goalkeeper plays a flawless game. Unfortunately for us.
And then you have a preponderance, a sea of attempts and chances and then one yes a small slip in the rearguard is enough to not keep the points in their own home but these go with the bus up north.
An undeserved defeat today. But we will finally have to find the net in the next few games or else the chances of making it to the first eight will be slim. Nothing is lost yet but.....
